FAQs
What is cosmetic tattooing?
Cosmetic Tattooing is a form of semi-permanent makeup that is done by gently implanting pigment into the skin using a disposable handheld blade or a machine. The result is natural looking eyebrows, regardless of the amount of hair present.
How long does it last?
Cosmetic Tattooing results can last anywhere from 1-3 years and in some cases longer. Results depend on multiple factors including your skin’s porosity, sun exposure, pre and post skincare routine, and dedicated aftercare maintenance. A Refresher Appointment is required to retain your brows shape and saturation of pigment over time. This appointment takes place once your initial appointment results have faded about 20-40%.
How will my brows look?
After the first session, your brows will appear much darker than the intended end result. They will fade and resurface over a 2-8 week healing period. After the first session, a 6-12 week touchup is required to perfect the shape and style.
Is it painful?
Most individuals report little to no pain when it comes to their cosmetic tattooing sessions. Your artist will start with a topical anesthetic on the eyebrow area for 10-15 minutes before beginning the process. A secondary numbing is also used during the service. This leaves most individuals numb during the procedure. Some discomfort is normal but extreme pain is very uncommon. Everyone's experience is different.
How do I prepare?
Before your appointment, please refrain from alcohol, caffeine, fish oils, vitamin e, aspirin, or ibuprofen 48-72 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Other items to avoid before appointment include: waxing, tweezing, or threading. No botox, fillers, or chemical peels for 4 weeks prior to your appointment. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions before your appointment if you need clarification.
Why do I need two sessions?
Your initial appointment is where we transform your brows based on skin type, shape preference and color. The second appointment is needed because as your brows heal it is not uncommon for them to lose color. Your second appointment gives us the opportunity to reinforce the strokes and edit any inconsistencies if need be.
Is your studio clean and safe?
Absolutely! Tools and blades are all single use and are unwrapped in front of clients and then disposed of safely after each service. All surfaces are sanitized before and after each client. The studio has regular health inspections and always exceeds the standard expectations.
